Vemula Groups delivered the complete construction and interior fit-out of the Reading Lounge in Terminal 1 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The lounge is conceived as a quiet retreat for passengers, combining warm materials, acoustic comfort and curated lighting with robust airport-grade detailing.
Project description
The PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility) Lounge at Terminal 1 is an ongoing project focused on creating a comfortable, inclusive, and fully accessible environment for passengers requiring special assistance. The lounge is being designed and executed in line with universal accessibility standards while integrating seamlessly with the operational requirements of the airport.
The design prioritizes barrier-free movement, intuitive spatial planning, and ergonomic comfort to support wheelchair users, elderly passengers, and travelers with reduced mobility. Material selection, lighting, and finishes are being carefully coordinated to ensure durability, safety, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere within a high-traffic terminal.
